Gavin Thomas is haunted by his parents’ death in a car crash. Now three years later, he’s the prince of gay bar hookups and hanging out with his best friend. He can’t seem to find a guy who really does it for him. It all changes the first time he sees Josh. Is love at first sight really a thing? Gavin thinks it might be.

Gavin turns on the charm to get Josh to notice him, but Josh is a tough nut to crack. When their job sends them to Austin and Josh’s hotel reservations fall through, Gavin persuades Josh to room with him. During the week together, Gavin breaks down Josh’s walls. Josh finds Gavin alluring in a way he’d never imagined. When they return home, Gavin’s worst nightmare comes true. Can their new romance survive it?

Catching His Eye is the third novel in the Mesa Boys series. It is a coworkers to lovers, forced proximity romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features a no-nonsense science nerd and a charismatic, passionate man with a creative sense of style. Each book features a different couple and can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.

Trigger warning: This book deals with the loss of both parents.

Reviews:

This book starts off hot, with Gavin in bed with his bar hookup right on page 1. At work the next morning the new hires are going thru orientation and Gavin spots Josh in the group and sparks fly. By the time you hit the 25% mark, Gavin & Josh are sharing a room at the Marriott on a business trip. So fasten your seat belts!

The main theme here seems to be understanding the difference between romantic love and friend/family love. Throw in some office romance rules, some social media rules, some lost family members angst, and you’ve got yourself a great read here! To spice things up, Christie starts every chapter with a pair of lace panties. You have to keep reading to discover what that’s all about – Five Stars.

I was excited to read this book after reading the excerpt from the last book. Andrea is seriously my favorite side character. Her meddlesome ways seems to bring love everywhere! I loved how easily they fell in love and pretty much were open with each other about how they felt. Adam, ugh Adam, one of my least favorite side characters. I saw right through him from the beginning. I yelled at my book more than once. Overall, great addition to the series!
