PG Excerpt:
Jayden glanced around him. “Well, I still have to fill my salt and pepper shakers and vacuum my side of the carpet over here.” He pointed at the right side of the restaurant. His attention fell on Alex. “How about you?”
“I’m pretty much done.” He peered out over the family-style restaurant, attempting to avoid Jayden’s alluring eyes for the moment. Vinyl covered booths lined up in rows stretched out beyond the wait station. Wide windows in white frames offered a view to the parking lot, now with only two cars parked at the far end—his green Jeep and Jayden’s old blue Mustang. He snuck a glance at Jayden. “If you keep trying to clean every speck off that counter, we’re going to be here all night.” A momentary smirk curled his lips.
As a full on smile spread over Jayden’s mouth, he slapped the rag on Alex’s arm. “Shut up.” Jayden took a step closer to Alex, his arms stretching out around Alex’s waist to land on the counter at Alex’s back, outside of Alex’s hands. He bent forward.
Alex leaned back, putting space between them. His breath quickened and his heart ran wild.
“If you’d help me out, we could get out of here a lot faster.” Jayden’s dark blond brows rose.
“S-sure.” With his stomach tied in knots, his gaze dropped to Jayden’s lips. Oh, God, keep it together. A lock of black hair fell over his eyes and he shook it away.
